Switzerland's Franjo von Allmen captured the men's super-G title to become just the third male alpine skier to win three gold medals at a single Winter Games in the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics, reported Xinhua.
Jordan Stolz of the United States took gold in 1:06.28, breaking the previous Olympic record set by Dutch skater Gerard van Velde at Salt Lake City 2002. Stolz finished 0.50 seconds ahead of Dutch skater Jenning de Boo, who took silver.
Von Allmen, 24, added super-G gold to his earlier victories in downhill and team combined, posting a winning time of one minute 25.32 seconds. He joined Austria's Toni Sailer (1956) and France's Jean-Claude Killy (1968) as the only male alpine skiers to sweep three golds in one edition.
Italy celebrated a historic double in luge, first capturing the inaugural Olympic women's doubles title before adding gold in the men's doubles.
In the women's doubles, Andrea Voetter and Marion Oberhofer combined for one minute 46.284 seconds to edge Germany's Dajana Eitberger and Magdalena Matschina by 0.120 seconds, while Austria's Selina Egle and Lara Michaela Kipp took bronze. China's Gulijienaiti Adikeyoumu and Zhao Jiaying placed eighth.
Host duo Emanuel Rieder and Simon Kainzwaldner followed by winning the men's doubles in 1:45.086, holding off Austria's Thomas Steu and Wolfgang Kindl by 0.068 seconds.
In freestyle skiing, American Olympic debutant Elizabeth Lemley, 20, claimed the women's moguls gold after Australia's defending champion Jakara Anthony crashed out of the final run.
Anthony, the top qualifier, posted 83.96 points in the first final but lost control after her opening jump and finished with 60.81 points in the second final. Lemley scored 82.30 to win, while her teammate Jaelin Kauf took silver. France's Perrine Laffont earned bronze.
In biathlon, France's Julia Simon overcame a single standing miss to win the women's 15km individual in 41:15.6, with her teammate Lou Jeanmonnot taking silver.
Bulgaria's Lora Hristova shot clean across all four stages to claim her first major international medal with bronze. China's Meng Fanqi finished 26th, her career-best at a major event and the country's strongest Olympic result in the discipline since 2010.
Norway's Jens Luraas Oftebro won the men's normal hill Nordic combined in 29 minutes 59.4 seconds, one second ahead of World Cup leader Johannes Lamparter of Austria.
Australian five-time snowboarder Scotty James topped men's halfpipe qualifying with 94.00 points, putting himself in position to drop last in Friday's final.
Defending champion Chloe Kim of the United States led the women's snowboard halfpipe qualification with 90.25 points. China's five-time Olympian Cai Xuetong placed fifth with 83.00 to advance.
Another Chinese snowboarder Liu Jiayu, the PyeongChang 2018 silver medalist, crashed heavily on her final takeoff and was taken to hospital. The Chinese snowboard team later confirmed she had no spinal abnormalities and remained stable.
