Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni played down concerns over Lionel Messi's injury on Tuesday ahead of the FIFA World Cup starting next month, reported Xinhua.
Messi was diagnosed with muscle fatigue after leaving the pitch in Inter Miami's 6-4 MLS win over Philadelphia Union on Sunday. The Florida club said the 38-year-old's recovery period would depend on his "clinical and functional progress".
"We have to wait for his recovery," Scaloni said in an interview broadcast by DSports.
"The initial news is not so bad. Obviously we would have preferred for nothing to happen to him, but now we have to wait for his recovery."
Scaloni has until June 1 to announce his final 26-man squad for the tournament in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
Defending champion Argentina will begin its campaign against Algeria on June 16 before also facing Austria and Jordan in Group J.
