Racist comments towards Germany trio forwarded to authorities

Racist abuse of three Germany national team players has been forwarded to the public prosecutors' office, the German Football Federation (DFB) said on Friday, reported dpa.

Defenders Antonio Rüdiger and Jonathan Tah, as well as debutant Nnamdi Collins, were subjected to racist abuse on social media after Germany's 2-0 defeat to Slovakia on Thursday in World Cup qualifying.

The DFB had mentioned the abose shortly after the final whistle in post on X.

"We're not happy. You're not happy. We absolutely can't be satisfied. But before you comment on this post, please remember that hate has never made anything better. Racism in particular has no place here."

The result in Bratislava was Germany's first ever defeat away from home, and only a fourth loss overall, in their 105th World Cup qualifier.
