Real Madrid will be without top scorer Kylian Mbappe for this week's Spanish Super Cup in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, reported Xinhua.
The striker is sidelined with a left knee injury sustained in training last week, which also ruled him out of Sunday's 5-1 home win over Real Betis in La Liga.
There had been hopes Mbappe could recover in time for the final if Real Madrid could get past Atletico Madrid in Thursday's semifinal at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium, but he has not been included in Xabi Alonso's 24-man squad.
Young striker Gonzalo is in the squad and is likely to start against Atletico after scoring a hat-trick against Betis when he stepped in for Mbappe.
Atletico travels to Jeddah on Tuesday and coach Diego Simeone will be without the injured Nico Gonzalez and Clement Lenglet. Midfielder Pablo Barrios has been included despite suffering a slight muscle injury in Sunday's 1-1 draw away to Real Sociedad.
FC Barcelona and Athletic Bilbao play the first semifinal on Wednesday, with the final on Sunday.
