Juventus sacks head coach Tudor after 8-game winless run

Italian Serie A side Juventus announced on Monday that it has dismissed head coach Igor Tudor and his coaching staff after the club failed to win its last eight matches, reported Xinhua.

"Juventus FC announces that it has today relieved Igor Tudor of his duties as head coach of the men's first team, along with his staff consisting of Ivan Javorcic, Tomislav Rogic and Riccardo Ragnacci," the club said in a statement.

Tudor, a former Juventus center-back, took over the reins in March from Thiago Motta and guided the Bianconeri to Champions League qualification last season.

Juventus had opened the new season with three consecutive wins, including an emphatic 4-3 win over Inter Milan in the Derby d'Italia on September 13. But the Old Lady failed to win its following eight games across all competitions, drawing five in a row before suffering three successive defeats, and has failed to score across the last four games.

At present Juventus sits eighth in Serie A, six points off leader Napoli, and ranks 25th out of 36 teams in the UEFA Champions League's league phase.

The club said that Massimo Brambilla, coach of Juventus Next Gen, has been placed in temporary charge for the match against Udinese on Wednesday evening.
