Duestad wins women's 50m rifle 3 positions title at ISSF WC

Norway's Jeanette Hegg Duestad captured the women's 50m rifle three positions gold at the 2025 International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Championship Rifle/Pistol on Wednesday, reported Xinhua.

It marked Duestad's first world title in the event, as she defeated 17-year-old Emely Jaeggi of Switzerland by just half a point, 465.8 to 465.3. British shooter Seonaid McIntosh took bronze with 454.6.

"After a couple of fourth places, this is really good," Duestad told Xinhua after the final.

"I think I did quite a good job. I had some bad shots but managed to catch up again. I worked quite hard during the entire final and still felt I had the mental control, so I'm really satisfied," she added.

The 26-year-old described her 2025 season as "perfect." "It's so many medals, especially in the 3 positions events, and finishing up with this, it couldn't be better," she said, adding that her next goal is the World Cup Final in December.

The 2025 ISSF World Championship runs through November 18, featuring more than 700 shooters from around the world.
